Congratulations to the 2019 Bram Stoker Awards® nominees on their recent interviews with HWA President John Palisano. Among the nominees interviewed was HWA Atlanta Chapter member Peter Adam Salomon.
Salomon’s novel Eight Minutes, Thirty-Two Seconds, published by PseudoPsalms Press, is nominated for Superior Achievement in a Young Adult Novel.
During his interview with Palisano, Salomon discussed his nomination and his response as a writer to COVID-19.

“People have turned to the horror genre throughout history to make sense of the shadows and to try explaining the darkness to themselves,” Salomon said. “As writers and artists, we have the ability to put those things into words and help them make sense of it. Horror is where people go, and we need to be there to help them.”
The other Atlanta Members nominated for Bram Stokers include two appearances in Superior Achievement in an Anthology. Chapter president Gini Koch has a story in A Secret Guide to Fighting Elder Gods, edited by Jennifer Brozek and released by Pulse Publishing. Additionally, Stoker Emcee emeritus Jeff Strand has a story in Pop the Clutch: Thrilling Tales of Rockabilly, Monsters, and Hot Rod Horror edited by Eric J. Guignard and released by Dark Moon Books.
The 2019 Bram Stoker Awards® is being live streamed April the 18th at 6 pm PST/ 9 pm EST in response to COVID-19. You can watch the live stream and cheer on Salomon and the rest of the nominees together with the Atlanta Chapter via Zoom.
